Is this year a threshold?
It feels like we are on a precipice.
The world is full of breakdowns and chaos and uncertainty. And it’s hard to know where to look for direction in the outside world. While energetically this year may have a calmer, more expansive feel to it (for some of us), the external world is definitely telling us otherwise.
So how do we respond purposefully to what is going on around us?
This is a question I have asked myself so many times over the last few years — but particularly in the last 12 months as things have escalated.
The message I hear repeatedly is to:
- Do our own work
- Cultivate our own inner sanctuary
- Build our own intuitive trust muscle
- Intentionally create authentic connections — with ourselves, our family, and community
- Harness our potential and capacity so that we can contribute in the most effective way
-
“The call has been to go in, rather than look out.”
The journey through menopause is giving me the same memo.
The call has been to go in, rather than look out.
To really deepen into our authentic self — and embrace all parts of ourselves lovingly — restoring lost parts, revealing hidden parts, and embracing the ABUNDANT joy and love.
I am all in on this.
So far, having committed to this over the past year more intentionally than ever, I feel more whole, clearer, more intentional, and more hopeful than ever before.
I have already made very different choices about the year ahead (and we are only three weeks in). I feel like I am responding differently to challenges, and there is a much greater bandwidth of tolerance for breakdowns — particularly with my family. I am much more accepting of myself.
I am super clear on where life is heading — and very open to how and what unfolds as I take each next step.
There are still gaps (of course), but there is a deepening within me that has created an anchor and reference point that I turn to repeatedly — and I trust it implicitly.
“Honestly, things look and feel radically different.”
I feel like, as women, we are in a period of real incubation.
It’s like we are preparing and ripening for this next season — because it is going to call on us to lead (whether we want to or not). So many spiritual teachers have spoken about women — particularly the Western woman (because we have the resources) — changing the world.
So maybe the feeling of confusion, fear, and despair in part of us is just that we haven’t tapped into our potential yet — and we need to harness our capacities.
Purpose creates action.
Maybe what is required instead of gathering and creating is:
- a letting go
- a softening (that was me)
- allowing, opening, and receiving the deeper wisdom of our hearts
"Maybe it’s simply a craving for more authentic connection and love."
Perhaps you are feeling energised and motivated, or open and calm and expansive, and clear on your pathway…
but there are still roadblocks that are keeping you stuck in some places.
Whatever it is that is niggling inside, or still unsettled, my invitation is to tend to that this year — to really give yourself fully to what we are being called into.
So that we are ready and prepared for what is coming.
Instead of New Year resolutions and lists of what we want, what about we dance with these questions:
- What is wanting to come through me this year?
- What is emerging… and how can I fully support and sustain this?
- What support do I need around me?
I feel deep in my bones that we are in high, wild winds of change…
and we are made for what is coming.
I am so hopeful that as capable, brilliant women,
we will lead the way.
